Description:

The job mainly involves assisting the Senior Advisor - Sustainable Development and Ecological Transition in the City of Pointe-Claire's sustainable development research and initiatives. The student will assist the advisor in tasks related to the development of the City's carbon footprint and other related sustainability projects, as required.

General responsibilities and goals:

• Collect data for the City's carbon footprint;
• Carry out the City's carbon footprint according to GHG Protocol standards;
• Conduct sustainability research and projects;
• Write reports and fact sheets;
• Prepare and deliver presentations to City staff as required;
• Attend sustainability events;
• Assist in tasks related to strategic planning and environmental science research projects.

Job requirements:

To be considered for this job, the candidate must have been a student at an institution recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation immediately prior to being hired and must be enrolled for the upcoming academic year.

• At least two years of completed university studies in engineering, environmental science or a related field;
• Good knowledge of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculation and/or life cycle assessment will be considered an asset;
• Good knowledge of French and English - spoken and written;
• Knowledge of Windows software (Word, Excel);
• Good analytical skills and resourcefulness;
• Detail-oriented and rigorous;
• Ease of teamwork and interpersonal communication;
• High degree of autonomy and proactive approach.

Schedule:

Monday to Thursday inclusively, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., minus 45 minutes for lunch; Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon.
