In this role, the individual is primarily responsible for the safe driving and operation of the assigned equipment and/or vehicle and for performing manual tasks.

Departmental mission:

To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of all public facilities, equipment, and buildings, in order to support sustainable development and improve citizens’ quality of life.

General responsibilities and goals:

Work involving the driving and/or operation of motorized equipment and vehicles such as: salt spreader in operation with or without snow plow, truck with or without snow plow, sprinkler, steamroller, tanker truck, dump truck and tractor bomber.

Performs manual tasks related to maintenance and cleanliness and general work such as snow removal around municipal buildings, spreading abrasives, repairing the roadway, being a flagman during snow removal operations, picking up garbage and tree branches, etc.

Job requirements:

The person must have a high school certificate. He/she must have a few years of relevant experience and hold a valid class 3 driver's license.

He/she must have a good knowledge of :

- spoken French and English, written French
- traffic regulations;
- of the operation of the vehicles or motorized equipment concerned, their functioning, their ordinary maintenance, their mechanism, their capacity and their limits;
- the safety and precautionary measures to be observed.

The person must be in good physical condition

Schedule:

3 or 4 day per week schedule for a total of 36 hours per week.

Night shift from November 15 to April 15.
Daytime schedule from April 15 to November 15,except for the street marking team.
