Description:

The student working in Inspection and Public Safety will, in the execution of his duties, to fulfill secretarial functions.

Departmental mission:

Contribute to citizens’ quality of life by enforcing Pointe-Claire by-laws and protecting Pointe-Claire territory with integrity and vigilance.

General responsibilities and goals:

Working in the Inspection and Public Security department, the person will be responsible for the following:

• Carrying out general office work such as data entry, transmission, and compilation; preparing file materials; filing; photocopying; etc.
• Transcribing letters, tables, reports, texts, financial statements, or any other document, using information provided.
• Proofreading documents to ensure correct spelling, grammar, and formatting of texts and transcriptions; making any necessary corrections.
• Receiving and transferring phone calls; taking messages and forwarding them to the appropriate parties; receiving visitors.
• Receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and various documents.
• Performing any other related task.

Job requirements:

To be considered for this job, the candidate must have been a student at an institution recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation immediately prior to being hired, and must be enrolled for the upcoming academic year.

• Must be enrolled at the college level (DEC)
• Bilingualism and a good knowledge of English and French grammar
• Knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel
• Well-developed organizational skills
• Interpersonal and customer service skills

Schedule:

35 hours per week
Monday to Thursday inclusively, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., minus 45 minutes for lunch; Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon.
